On behalf of the entire Cal State Monterey Bay, Holly and I would like to express our condolences to the Antle family upon the passing of Sue Antle.
Sue embodied the founding vision of CSUMB, specifically in her efforts to support the educational needs of all the diverse people of California. From the first time I met Sue, she showed a keen interest in the work of our university and was eager to support community enrichment opportunities and to help improve educational pathways in the region.
One of Sue’s many contributions to CSUMB included the time and energy she brought to our annual Have a Heart fundraiser. Sue was a founding member of the Have a Heart planning committee and a steadfast leader of this major event for 20 years. Her efforts as a Have a Heart community volunteer and co-chair through the years helped open the door of opportunity for many first-generation students and transform lives. Sue’s presence and leadership directly contributed to the growing impact of CSUMB as a regional university.

As the social and intellectual hub of the university, the library is the public square of CSUMB. We are eternally grateful for the Antle family’s generosity and passion for improving the educational attainment of the residents of Monterey County and beyond.
Our thoughts and sympathies are with the Antle family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time. We were blessed to be graced by her presence here at Cal State Monterey Bay, and are forever grateful for her contributions as a leader and as a friend.
